Okay, so we don’t actually have a fireplace. But what we do have is lots more interesting coffee facts to share with you this exciting month ahead.

Why exciting, you ask? Well, for starters today is #InternationalCoffeeDay! The perfect time to travel back in time to explore what is widely believed to be the very first (modern) coffee cocktail.

Can you guess what it is?

Let us take you back to the 1940s

• You may well have guessed that the very first (modern) coffee cocktail is indeed the renowned Irish Coffee
• ?? Invented by Joe Sheridan during the winter of 1943
• Born in Northern Ireland, Sheridan was working as a Chef at the airbase in Foynes when he came up with this concoction
• Needless to say, its fame continues to dominate up until the present day!

What else happened in the 1940s?

• Don’t forget that the popular Asiático has also been around since the 1940s. Yes indeed, believe it or not
• Especially well-known in Cartagena, Spain. Our city!
• A delightful treat with condensed milk, brandy and of course Licor 43
